So last night, Doug and Zoe came into town (Doug is my part time basement-buddy) for the Police concert. Apparently it was the first time that this band has played together in concert since they broke up back in the 80s. Richie is an 80s junkie, and loves bands from his "university" era. It was Doug's birthday too, so the humans were having some cocktails out on the deck before they went down to the concert.
So I decided to be the life of the party, and was hopping into my box (a special waxed cardboard that I love to chew on) to show off for the gang. They thought it looked pretty silly, but I thought it was perfect - I was able to sit on the edge and chew on the box at the same time!
Only two more weeks until I get to see my brothers and sisters again! Woof woof!

Are we there yet?
Ok, I don't think I signed up for this. 5 hours in the back of the car to go someplace that I don't even know. Sure, we stopped a couple of times, and I got to get out and stretch my legs and do my business, but what the heck?
Finally, we get there, and that grumpy bum Lewis wasn't nearly as grumpy as he has been in the past. I give him his space, and he doesn't get too upset. We even had a little fun together. I would hang out with him at the front of the house during "happy hour" and we would drink from the same bowl at the same time!
The next day, Christine, Tasha and Lewis went for a long walk to see these things called "rock ovens" that the chefs used to make food for the railway workers. I couldn't go, because I can't walk that far - good thing, as it looks like a big disappointment anyways. Instead, Richie, Al and I walked down to visit some friends who had two chocolate labs and a "rat dog" - their names were Fin, Big Bear and Little Bear respectively. I wanted to play with the big dogs, but the only one that wanted to play with me was Little Bear.
Later, back at the house, Lewis and I were actually playing together - well, Lewis would fetch the ball and I would chase him. We were hanging out in the sun, when we heard something rustling in the bushes. Christine thought it might be a mouse, so we went in together to investigate. What fun!

Puppy Party!
So my humans are going to host a party in June (like I can read a Gregorian calendar?) so that I can see some of my brothers and sisters!
I can't wait to see them! In the meantime, we're heading up to Naramata to visit Allan and Tasha. That grumpy bum Lewis will be up there - maybe I can get him to play with me instead of just playing with this big stick!
Apparently we are also going to visit another Berner breeder named Pam - she lives just down the street from Allan, and one of her Berners had puppies recently! I guess I'm not allowed to meet them, as they haven't had their shots yet. However, I think I'm going to meet some of her big dogs - that will be fun!
I'll post some pics from my weekend soon.

Mmmm... I love peas!
So one of Richie's friends told him that his doggie used to nibble/eat grass once in a while, and that by giving her a couple of tablespoons of cooked peas once in a while, it would satisfy her "greens" craving. I've been known to chew on grass on occasion, and so one day, some peas appeared in my kibble! Let me tell you, these little things are yummy! Both Christine and Richie don't like them - they must be crazy! When I get peas in my food, I gobble it down!
I don't get peas every day - just every other day or so, and only in one of my meals. Another favourite of mine, is bananas... it would make sense really, since I make so many monkey sounds, I should like bananas.
Rumour has it that we are going to host a party for all of my siblings to get together again! Stay tuned here for more details on that!

Door open = opportunity
Hmmm... what happened here?
It turns out that Richie and Christine went out for groceries the other day, and someone (Christine, I'm pretty sure), left the door to my safe area open! Talk about fun... I ran around everywhere looking for trouble. I'm sure I jumped up on the couch in the theatre room (I do that at every opportunity), found every slipper and shoe that wasn't tucked away, dragged anything that wasn't nailed down out in the open, and my favourite - I unrolled the toilet paper in the bathroom! Woo hoo! When they came home, I put my most innocent, puppy-eyes on, and pretended that there was no way I could have been involved. Someone ratted me out however, as I got positioned with the evidence above.
So I really am growing up... we went for my last set of shots yesterday, and I sat on the scale thingy. I am up to 42 pounds! Probably because I eat about 7 cups of puppy chow a day - and a number of cookies for performing my tricks for the humans. Anyhow, I'm now certified to go across the border, now that I am fully vaccinated. Point Roberts, here I come!
