Chore day

Today started out like every other day - a leisurely breakfast, then a walk in the neighbourhood. But after Richie did his other stuff around the house, we went for a car ride! Did I mention how much I like going for car rides? Anyhow, we drove for a little while, and then we got out at this awesome smelling place!

Apparently, this is what they call a pet food store - it was fantastic! We walked through the aisles, and I sniffed everything that I could. We met this nice doggie there, and a few others. Then Richie picked up a big bag of my food, and we got back in the car again.

Then after our afternoon nap (I was taking mine in the bathroom on the cool tile floor), I got my ears and paws trimmed. I don't really mind it, but I do squirm around a little, making it as hard for Richie as I can. Supposedly, this makes it easier for me to get traction on the slippery wood floors. Not sure why I need the fur on my ears trimmed however. Anyhow, I think that is it for today... whew!

Brotherly fun!

We went for a car ride yesterday, and ended up at a new place that we have never been before. But when we got there, my brother Cooper was walking ahead of us with his humans!

There was so much fun stuff to sniff and smell - we ran back and forth, looking for new things. I found out very quickly, that the icy stuff can actually fall apart, and I fell into the cold water of the ditch. That's ok, as it gave me an opportunity to show Cooper how to properly drink from a ditch - i.e. lying down.

There were a lot of those big birds down there called "eagles", but I didn't pay them much attention. But there was some smelly stuff on the ground that apparently those photographer humans would bring to attract the eagles, and Cooper and I tried our best to sample some morsels. This did not make our humans happy.

Sometimes, the ditch would be deeper than others, and one time when I broke through the ice, I stuck my snout under, and got really dirty! Thanks Cooper's human for capturing a great pic of me all dirty.

Christine and Richie didn't really like that, and so they shooed us over to a small area that still had some snow, so that Cooper and I could do some wrestling and get a bit of the mud off our fur. It kinda worked, but I still got a partial bath when I got home. What a fun day with Cooper and his humans!

Sibling Saturday

It would seem that winter is still upon us. It snowed again yesterday, and it is still coming down this morning. You'd think that would be enough to make for a good day, but we got into the Rover and went to Queen Elizabeth Park again, and I met another one of my brothers there! His name is Cooper, and I haven't seen him since we were puppies. And then a little while later, Rilee and Winston showed up!

Winston and I hit it off immediately, and we got into some tussling right away. Here I am, giving him a body check, as he comes in on the attack from my left.

Rilee is still more comfortable wrestling with Winston, but after a bit of encouragement, I managed to have a little fun with her too.

That's her and me mixing it up in the foreground, and Cooper giving chase to Winston behind us. We'd switch it up, and then some other doggie would show up, and the chase would be on!

That's Cooper out in front - you can't see Rilee in behind him, but the three of them are in full flight, as we ran back from the trees on the edge of the park... I'm bringing up the rear - slowly.

Then after an hour running around in the snow, all of the humans came back to our place, and ate yummy stuff and drank coffee (yuck). Only Cooper came inside with them, and we hung out on the kitchen floor together, hoping/waiting for food to drop.

What a fun way to spend Saturday! Now I am exhausted however.
